PAUL BRITZA - TAEJON AFGHANS - Sydney, Australia

My involvement in Afghan Hounds commenced in the early 1970's. My early winners in this period were made possible as a result of some of the early American and UK imports into Australia such as Am. Ch. Huzzah Jack Frost (USA), Aust. Ch. Chandaharas Tardis Arrakesh (UK), Akaba's Blue Max (USA) and The Flying Dutchman of Isfahan (USA). Together with my wife Lyn, and daughter Julieanne, we breed sparingly. In total we have bred over 30 champions in Australia, New Zealand, Norway, South Africa Canada and Mexico as well as an International champion. We have always prided ourselves on breeding structurally sound and beautiful moving Afghans of any colour. Some of our successes of later years (among others) have been with our recently retired bitch Multiple BIS Aust Grand Ch Furbari Tiffany Diamond who is sired by our highly successful home-bred stud dog Ch Taejon Parallax View. My involvement in Afghans has not been limited to breeding and showing. I have been president for both the South Australian and New South Wales Afghan Hound Clubs on many occasions. I have also been show manager and/or secretary for many Club and National Specialty Shows as well as being chairman for the 4th Afghan Hound World Congress in 2000. I have been a qualified judge for Afghan Hounds for more 18 years. As well as having judged in Australia, I have judged Afghan Hounds in Sweden, New Zealand as well as three previous Afghan Hound Specialty shows in the USA (St. Louis, Nutmeg and Finger Lakes).
