We are called a ‘Free Church’ because we are independent from any organised denomination, although we do have fellowship with other churches. We are an ‘Evangelical Reformed Church.’ We are ‘Evangelical’ because we seek to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are ‘Reformed’ because our teaching ministry is based on the ‘Doctrines of Grace’, the teaching of the Reformation period of Church History as outlined in the Westminster Confession of 1647 & Baptist Confession of 1689. We're more wicked than we ever realised, but more loved than we ever dreamed. What caused an Australian, a Welshman, a Faroese, a few Scotsmen
and about 250 Englishmen to meet together at Sunderland Free Church? "But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling
