BELIEF

WHAT DO WE PREACH?
We preach Jesus Christ as the only way of salvation for sinful people
We preach from the Bible, the Word of the Living God, which contains everything necessary for salvation, faith, worship & daily Christian living.
We preach from both Old & New Testament Scriptures, believing them to be the infallible Word of the Living God to everyone. We seek to preach the Word of God in a contemporary manner and seek to communicate the unchanging message of the Bible in a language that is easy to understand, applying it to the daily living and circumstances of people in our own day & generation.

HOW DO WE WORSHIP?
We worship God in a simple manner, without a great deal of ceremony. Nevertheless, we seek to conduct our worship with a deep sense of reverence, as befits those who are coming into the presence of an Almighty, Holy & Glorious God. We sing a mixture of traditional & modern Hymns & Spiritual Songs.

WHAT CHURCH ORDINANCES DO WE PRACTICE?
We believe that Baptism is to be administered to believers, i.e. those who have consciously repented of their sin and have made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord & Saviour.
What about infants?  Christian parents bring their children to a service of Thanksgiving & Dedication, when they promise to bring up children in the Training & Discipline of the Lord, with a sincere hope that they will later make a personal profession of faith in the Lord Jesus.
We partake of the Lord's Supper or Holy Communion, each Sunday.  This is a time when believers express their union with Christ.  The elements of Bread & Wine symbolise the self-sacrifice of Jesus on the cross of Calvary.

WHAT IS OUR FORM OF CHURCH GOVERNMENT?
We are an Independent Church which is governed at the local level.  We have Elders (also called Pastors) who are responsible for the teaching, evangelism and pastoral oversight of the Local Church.  We also have Deacons who look after the building, finance and other practical needs.  Church Members meet on a regular basis to discuss the business of the Local Church.

WHO CAN BE MEMBERS OF OUR CHURCH?
Membership of our Local Church is open to all who make a credible profession of faith in Jesus Christ and have been baptised.  Potential members are interviewed by the Elders who will ask about the work of grace in their lives and their willingness to submit to the Teaching & Leadership of the Church.  Applications are received from those wishing to transfer membership from another fellowship.
