The only known records of Patrick BAIN are of his marriage at Fowlis Wester, Perth, in 1723 to Isabel BUCHAN followed by the baptism there of 5 children, including twins. At this time he was living at a nearby farm called Carsehead Milton, which implies the presence of a mill there. The present farm is known only as Carsehead. The baptism of his last child is followed 7 months later by a marriage at Fowlis Wester to Mary CLARK; the groom was Peter BAIN, but the equivalence of Peter with Patrick suggests that this was a re-marriage of Patrick. No children of Peter and Mary are known, and nothing later is known of his life. |

There are several
possible C of Patrick in the OPR; nearest (and also the son of John as required
by Scottish naming pattern) is at Crieff: C 8Apr1705 Patrick BANE s John BANE,
but this gives a young m age of 18; other C to John at Crieff are James 1703,
Lillias 1709, Janet 1710, John 1715, but the Crieff register does not give the
mother's name; the nearest suitable John marriage is at Muthill 19Nov1691 to
Janet SIM which is somewhat early for baptisms commencing in 1703

BAIN-6 was baptised at Fowlis Wester in 1728 the son of Patrick BAIN in
Carlshead Milton. A series of baptisms
to these parents is preceded by the following marriage at Fowlis Wester:

other suitable m in the Fowlis register, but a later marriage of Peter BAYNE
