Notes

[1] no evidence that Patrick remarried except that a m of Peter BAIN to Mary CLARK took place just 7 months after the baptism of Patrick's last child by his first wife; no baptisms to Peter and Mary are known.  Peter & Patrick are equivalent names

 

[2] no suitable baptism at Fowlis for the John who married Margaret HENDRIE except for the John baptised in 1724 son of Patrick & Isabel.  The names of their 2nd and 3rd children fit perfectly but John would have been 49 at marriage.  Another possibility is that the John who married Margaret HENDRIE was the son of Patrick and Anna HALLEY born in the 10 year interval between their marriage in 1748 and their first known baptism (Amelia) in 1758.  Margaret HENDRIE is probably the d of David HENRY (sic) & Margaret MCLEISH C3Feb1751 Fowlis W

 

[3] no suitable baptism at Fowlis for the Patrick who married Anna HALLEY; Peter is equivalent to Patrick however and there is one suitable baptism as shown; there are however possible Patrick baptisms in nearby Crieff.

 

[4] a Peter MCLEAN was baptised at Culross some 30 miles south of Fowlis son of Patrick and Anna BAIN; no other MCLEANS at Culross so combination of right names and time makes it very likely that Peter belongs here

 

[5] Isabel BUCHAN was probably C 14Feb1703 daughter of John Buchan; the most probable m of John Buchan is to Jean McFARLAND 9Aug1695
