John BAYLIS was probably born in Broughton, Oxfordshire in 1755 but lived in the nearby village of Tysoe in Warwickshire where he married and baptised eight children Two of his sons moved to neighbouring Brailes, while two daughters moved further south to Kirtlington. One of them, Hannah, married William YOUNG a butcher, while the other became a servant to another William YOUNG, a farmer.
