[1] This tree was constructed to help determine whether William BLEWETT of Mousehole, bc1710 could be the William C1706 at Gwinear. My grandfather, Henry Michael BLEWETT, had a belief that there was a connection between the Mousehole and the Gwinear BLEWETT families, though he had no evidence. William BLEWETT of Mousehole was his 3xgr.grandfather, and it seems improbable that a connection would have been remembered through five generations. Moreover, Gwinear is not a coastal village and is some 12 miles from Mousehole. If there were a connection it was probably made much more recently.
[2] Was the William who married Mary MICHELL in 1756 at Gwinear the William C1706? It seems probable, though he would have been 50 at the time. There is no other William at Gwinear, and a William died in 1768 just after his last child Elizabeth was baptised, when he would have been 60. If this is right, then this William could not have married Elizabeth BANDS in 1733 at Paul (Mousehole), unless he married twice, first at Paul than at Gwinear. However there is no burial of Elizabeth BLEWETT between 1752 (last child baptised at Paul) and 1756 (m at Gwinnear) and the idea seems far-fetched
