[1] According to a deposition dated 1Apr1588, John DACKAM a gentleman of Henstridge SOM was then aged 40 years or thereabouts [Nat Arch. C21 R27/6]. Henstridge is only 5 miles from N Wootton, and the deposition undoubtedly refers to the John who founded the N. Wootton branch, giving him a birth date of c1548
[2] The 1623 Visitation (repeated in Hutchins) has Ann married to Wm Halway, but the register of Stuminster Marshall has a marriage of Anne to Richard Holloway gent which seems a more reliable source. According to the IGI, Anis Dackeam was baptised at Southbroom St James WIL (near Devizes) 15Jny1602 dau of Rychard Holloway & Ann Dackam . However I did not find this in a transcription of the register which recorded the baptism of Agnes on this date without parent’s names. The IGI must surely be incorrect. Also found at Southbroom: m 12Oct1575 John DACKAM & Agnes CLARK; C 15Jny1602/3 Agnes DACKAM; C 10Jny1605/6 Michall DACAM.
[3] John, Robert, Deborah, Margaret, Christian, are named in the 1623 visitation and repeated in Hutchins History of Dorset. However only three baptisms to John are recorded at N Wooton: John 1584, Henry 1589 and Robert 1601; since John was of Henstridge in 1588, his other children may have been baptised there, but the registers have survived only from 1653. Two baptisms to John are recorded at Milborne St Andrew, about 12 miles away: Christian 1596, George 1597; these are at the right time and Christian is named in the Visitation, but no evidence known at present to connect them with John of North Wooton:
