Thomas was born about 1722 and was apprenticed as a carpenter in the Hertfordshire village of Furneaux Pelham when he was 14. He remained in Furneaux for the rest of his life. At the end of his apprenticeship, he married Ann ALBURY at Furneaux in 1745 and they baptised seven children there between 1747 and 1756. Ann probably died in 1781 and Thomas was buried at Furneux in 1789 aged 67 |

Thomas
married in Furneax Pelham in 1745, baptised his children there and was probably
buried there in 1789. A birth date
around 1720 is therefore likely but there is no suitable C at Furneax Pelham. His descendants moved to Langley, but no
suitable baptism found there, nor at Stocking Pelham. Meesden registers have not survived <1737.
An
apprentice record at PRO records that Thomas son of John of Brent Pelham was
apprenticed at Furneaux Pelham in 1736.
He would have completed this in 1743 which fits with a marriage at
Furneaux in 1745. The normal apprentice
age of 14 gives an expected birth date of 1722. The registers of Brent Pelham have not yet been examined for this
family.
John GRAVES buried a son John at Furneux Pelham in 1717 and a son Thomas in April 1724. Possible parents who married at Furmeux are John & Ann 1718

It seems
probable that the first burial of Thomas refers to their son born 1756, leaving
the 1789 burial for Thomas-8. The two
Anne burials probably refer to Thomas's wife and his daughter but which is
which cannot be determined; it will be assumed that the wife died before the
daughter
