PRINCIPAL RECORDS

b=born  m=married  d=died

C=Christened       B=Buried

BIRTH

Henry baptised children at Chobham from 1654 to 1672 and died in 1681.  A birth date around 1620/30 would be expected but has not been found.  Unfortunately, the Chobham registers have not survived before 1654, so the baptismal record may never be found

MARRIAGE

Henry’s first child was baptised at Chobham in 1654 and the last in 1672. A marriage around 1650 is therefore expected, but has not been found.   No suitable m in the Surrey m index.  The Chobham registers commence in 1654 so probably the marriage took place in Chobham but the record has not survived.

The burial register at Chobham has the burial of Mary HALL widow in 1700; this may possibly be the widow of Henry despite the spelling, but might be the widow of John HALL of Chobham who baptised Elizabeth in 1669, Jane in 1673 and who died in 1673.

DEATH

from Chobham register:

B 10Jan1681 Henry HALE

B  3Mar1690 Mary wife of Henry HALE

B 28Sep1700 Mary HALL widow

the 1681 burial of Henry is the only suitable entry;  the burial in 1690 states Mary as a wife not a widow, so must refer to the wife of Henry’s eldest son Henry whose will was proved in 1693/4 but does not mention his wife

the burial in 1700 may refer to the widow of Henry HALE or to the widow of John HALL who died in 1673; note that Henry had a daughter Mary, but John did not
