Robert
KING was born in 1699 at Wendlebury the son of a blacksmith. He
became a blacksmith like his father and married Martha PAIN, a widow, in the
next parish of Bletchingdon when he was 23.
Five children were baptised at Bletchingdon between 1723 and 1734 but
two of them died in infancy. Robert
himself died when only 35 before his last daughter was born. Martha’s burial has not been found in
Bletchingdon, and she may have been buried at Rousham in 1759. |
