All that is known of Thomas OSBOURN’s life is that he married at Terling in 1719 and baptised two daughters there before he died in 1723. He was probably born around 1680-1690, son of William & Judith who were living in Terling by 1684, but his baptism has not yet been found either in Terling or elsewhere. |

The baptism of Thomas has not been found. However, there are only three OSBOURNE families at Terling in the 18th and 19th centuries:
William & Judith baptised children from 1684-1694
Thomas & Elizabeth baptised children from 1720-1723
Wm and Mary baptised children 1738-1746.
These are each a generation apart, and with the repetition of the name William, it is likely that there is a direct line of descent William-Thomas-William, even though the baptism of Thomas to William and of William to Thomas was not found in the Terling transcript at SoG. The original register however has not been searched for these baptisms. If this assumption is correct, then Thomas was the son of William & Judith, born around 1690 Other children born to these parents were: Mary 1684, Judith 1687, Ann 1693. William was buried in 1694
Elizabeth OSBORN-6 was baptised at Terling in 1720, daughter of Thomas & Elizabeth. The baptism is preceded by a suitable m at Terling:

If the assumption discussed above is correct, then William is a third descendant of Thomas, born around 1721. William married firstly Mary WHITE, secondly Anna Maria BRIDGMAN. His two daughters however died in infancy:
