Anthony was probably married in 1697 and died in 1750, so a birth date around 1675 is expected. The family first appeared in Hampton Poyle in 1705 so a baptism has to be found elsewhere. There is no suitable C in IGI

Anthony is a common PEESLEY family name. The IGI has Anthony PIZLYE C 1563 at Lt.Wittenham Berks; so the name goes back a long way, and during the next century several branches may have used the name, so an immediate connection cannot be assumed between different Anthony’s.

the baptism of Anthony 6Nov1666 is a little early for Anthony-8, giving a age at burial of 84; this Anthony did not marry or baptise children at Clifton, but the burials there have not yet been examined; Clifton is only 2 miles from Lt.Wittenham where the 1563 Anthony was baptised

Of course, Anthony 8 does not have to be a son of Anthony, and the registers of likely nearby parishes such as Lt.Wittenham and Warborough where PEESLEY’s are known to have been present, have not yet been examined. No suitable C found at Dorchester or Marsh Baldon

MARRIAGE

Susanna-7 was baptised at Hampton Poyle in 1716, daughter of Anthony & Margaret. The Oxford marriage index has a suitable marriage at Waterperry in 1697 some 9 miles from Hampton Poyle. Anthony was of Horton, 5 miles from Hampton Poyle. The unusual names leave little doubt that this is the correct marriage, though 19 years before the baptism of Susanna and 8 years before the baptism of their first known child:
