C

- days at St Dunstan
Thomas
& Jane must be favourite at present; the christening was in same parish
church where Thomas jun was married; Thomas sen
was a
weaver like Thomas jun and age at m is sensible. This parentage will be assumed pending further information
Thomas
SHORT-7 was baptised in 1715 at St Dunstan son of Thomas (weaver of MENT) and
Mary. This baptism is preceded by the
following marriage at St.Dunstan:
m 17May1714 Thomas SHORT of Mile
End.N.Town, weaver, & Mary ALEXANDER of Bethnal Green, S (=spinster)
There is
no other suitable m in London IGI and since the groom was a weaver of MENT, at
the right time and parish, it seems almost certainly the correct marriage.
C 30Oct1715 Thomas s Thomas & Mary
SHORT, MENT, weaver, 12 days old
C 29Jul1722 Mary d Thomas & Mary SHORT, MENT, weaver, 6 days old
these children
found from IGI search; no other suitable C found in IGI except two possibles at
Spitalfields Christchurch – Sarah 1732, Thomas 1733;
no C index
to St Dunstan for this period
No
information. Too many burials at St
Dunstan after 1722 to make a search for burial of Thomas or Mary worthwhile;
moreover ages at burial not given until 1811; no burial indexes for St D at
this period
