Jane Trewavas was born in Mousehole in 1810 and married a local fisherman, John WRIGHT when she was 20. John was 10 years older than Jane. Over the next 24 years, ten children were born and baptised at the Methodist chapel in Penzance or Mousehole By 1851, John was master of his own fishing boat the “Briton” and his family were living in the comfortable surroundings of Wesley Square, Mousehole. John and Jane remained in Wesley Square for the rest of their lives, living there with unmarried and married children. John remained a fisherman all his life and died in 1880 aged 80. Jane outlived him for seven years and they were both buried in Paul churchyard. |
