3 Isabella Joan WALKER 1844-1896

1m George MORRISON 1862;  2m George Ogilvie STEVENSON 1865

Isabella was christened in Aberdeen in 1844, daughter of John WALKER, a grocer, but her father died before she was christened, so she was an only child.

Her widowed mother ran a boarding house off Union St in Aberdeen, but at the age of 16, she was living with her Aunt, also a boarding house keeper, at 1 Berry Lane, Aberdeen, probably because her mother had by then re-married James WALLACE.

A year later, she married George MORRISON, a railway clerk, and within 6 months, a son George was born at 1 Berry Lane.  The following year her husband died, and she remarried George STEVENSON in 1865 still aged only 21.  Her son by her first marriage was brought up as a STEVENSON.

Another son Frederick William was born in 1867 at 36 Spital when Isabella was 23.  Her husband went to sea the next year and was continuously away throughout her life.  In 1871 she was living with her twice-widowed mother and her mother's two children.  A daughter was born in Huntly St, Aberdeen in 1875

Shortly after, the family moved to Poplar in London to be near the docks where George returned from his voyages.  Two more daughters were born in Poplar before they moved to East India Dock Rd.

Her son Frederick married in April 1896, but Isabel died later that year from lung cancer, just one year before her husband also died
