The WILSONs were farmers in the the Hundred of Tendring which lies in the NE corner of Essex between the rivers Colne and Stour. Francis WILSON was born about 1700 and had a farm at Jaywick near Clacton.

His daughter married another farmer, and moved south to Hatfield Peveril and Writtle near Chelmsford
