Back row, far right: Isaac Hebdon.
Isaac was born in 1890 and married Louisa Smithson. He
worked on the river, dredging sand for supply to local builders.
He worked with his father, also Isaac, who was a keel
owner. Isaac jnr's 21-year-old brother Joseph drowned in 1891,
when captaining the keel, together with his brother-in-law
Smith Halliday, the landlord of the Blacksmith's Arms, Hook.

Police Sergeant J W Cooper
Picture caption on the back of the photo reads:
"Police Sgt J W Cooper retired after 26 years service
in West Riding constaulary. He came to Goole in 1921 and for
7 years has been the ??ment officer for horses appointed by
the Ministry of Agriculture."
He is possibly John William Cooper, police constable in 1911
in Batley and originally from Coxwold, b 1879. His wife was
Mary and they had a daughter Florence, b.1908 in Morley. A
Florence Cooper married a George Wood in 1927 at Goole. |

They were going to London to attend the All England Ranger
rally at White City stadium. The Rangers were Daisy Gelder,
Eunice Glentworth, Joan Ratcliffe, June Rowse and Alice Sparrow.
