Under 13 squad 2001-2002

Sutton United FC - Under 11's This is a brief history of the above team. Lee Dinnage and Owen Davies decided to form an under 11 team towards the end of season 1999/2000. Plans were made and during the summer of 2000 after extensive advertising, trials were held for in excess of fifty boys. Decisions were made and a total of thirteen boys were selected to form the squad.

It was decided that for our first season we would compete in the Division 1 of the Epsom & Ewell League on Saturdays. After weeks of training together we arranged our first friendly match against Hook Youth FC. Trailing 4-0 at half time the team pulled together and in the second half gave a better display losing the match 4-1 . Our next outing was to an 11 a side tournament where the boys gave a really good account of themselves against teams that had been established for many years. Going out against a very strong team in the semi final by 1-0.
