AFC WIMBLEDON MATCH

AFC Wimbledon took their first step on their journey to top class football. A magnificent 4670 people saw Sutton dampen the parade a bit by beating the newly formed team 4-0. Kevin Carter having the honour of being the first person to score against the new Dons (Real Wimbledon FC perhaps?). This was never about Sutton, the score line was incidental (although Sutton showed some neat football for the first outing of the season). AFC Wimbledon on the other hand looked like a club that had only just be formed after a mass trial on Wimbledon Common..... (sorry? ....oh they are!). To ask any team to perform after just one week would be asking for a small miracle.
The real winners here were the people of AFC Wimbledon. To have created a club in such a short space of time and to see their first game performed in front of so many supporters was a magnificent achievment. We will watch with interest.
GOOD LUCK AFC WIMBLEDON
