These pictures were taken back in 1980 with a 35mm reflex
camera fitted with a
35mm W/A lens skewed round at an extreme angle in an attempt to photograph
models with 'full sized' perspective.
My apologies for their tattiness, the experiment was almost
a success - if only I
could have afforded a Hassleblad W/A lens ------
The Triang-Hornby HO/OO Rocket set. Loco approx. 2" long, train 14".
HO/OO Scaled up to 5" gauge, although that coupling rather
lets it down.
The rather grubby appearance is that of a well loved toy --
Scaled up to full size with lighting becoming very difficult at extreme close-up.
'Phoelix' a Stirling engine/dyno set. A conventional
close-up taken
with a 50mm lens. Baseboard is 9.5" long. Cylinder is 5/8" brass
tube.
The same set but using the swing back camera almost at
its limit.
Possibly a 2 HP engine ------ ?
Finally at well beyond its limit and at least 100 HP? Sorry
about my clumsy
attempts to disguise the flare at the top. The driver appears
to have absconded
fom the Rocket -----
