Middleton Park Parent Council

What's a Parent Council?

Parent councils are a way for schools to encourage more parents to get involved in school life. They are informal forums where parents are able to raise issues, be consulted on school policy and give their views. It isn't just about parents' relationships with the school - it's also about their relationships with other parents, and of course with their child's learning.

The Middleton Park Parent Council committee meets regularly. The committee consists of a Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, Class Reps and several teacher representatives. Any parent or carer of a child who attends Middleton Park is free to join the committee at any time.

What we do?

We organise numerous events and activities within the school such as: school discos, Fairs, Water bottles, Social Events and last but by no means least the '2009 Christmas Fair', which in itself raised over £X,XXX.

Over the years this has funded laptops, the friendship bench, monies for Golden Time resources i.e baking, craft etc., games for the Wii and we contributed towards the outings and pantomine tickets.

How to help?

As you can see from above we need HELP doing things like:

  • Helping within the school
  • Helping at school discos
  • Helping at Book fairs
  • Organising Events
  • Helping at the Spring/Chrstimas Fairs
  • Or just joining the committee

We are always looking for new ideas for the fundraising events!
