I got my first two Lhasa Apso in 1973 whilst I was living in Australia. Unfortunately, I returned to the UK in 1975 and was unable to keep these two dogs. Since then, I have not been without a Lhasa Apso and my passion for them has never waned. Due to circumstances, mainly ill health, I have not been able until recently to follow my passion and breed and show.
Once I knew I could now breed and show these wonderful dogs, I set about looking for my foundation stock. To my disappointment, I found it very hard to get Lhasa Apso that were true to type here in the UK. Through various contacts, and especially with the help of Dr C. Marley, I was able to get a new foundation from Europe and Scandinavia. These dogs introduce much needed genetic diversity into the UK as they bring in additional lines not before seen here. My present dogs include USA, Hamilton, Scandinavian and European lines.
I was fortunate to be able learn about our wonderful breed from Mrs Frances Sefton, Mrs Thelma Morgan, and from my dear friends of over 20 years standing, Mr and Mrs Warrington(Piplaurie).
I will continue to breed dogs with one thing in mind – to produce dogs that stay true to the attributes required in their land of origin – Tibet. Show success is a much welcome bonus but is not the sole aim of my breeding program.
