The article you have just read was presented for publication in the LAC Newsletter. The committee of the LAC rejected it as being ‘personal’. Anything written for such publications is obviously a personal view of the writer.
It is highly regrettable that such a decision was taken. Perhaps the article was not understood by the committee members or they disagreed with it. Neither reason provides good argument for rejection. With this decision, the membership have been wronged. They have been treated with contempt. It appears that members of the club are not considered intelligent enough to form their own opinions from what they read.
The people responsible for the newsletter are always asking for articles as they receive very few. It is surprising then that such an action was taken. The idea of having a newsletter is to inform the membership and to provide topics for interest and debate. At least that is what one assumed.
Finally, I have nothing against any individual on the committee. However, as a committee I believe strongly they have collectively behaved in a way that is unethical and is a direct insult to the membership of the LAC. More importantly, such decisions are harmful to our breed, as they stifle debate and any possible improvement to our dogs which may result from such debate.
