William Piggins was baptised on Monday, 16 May 1859 at Parish Church, Rearsby, Leicestershire, and recorded as the son of William a labourer of Rearsby and Mary. He was the son of William Piggins and Mary Walker. William Piggins appeared on the census with William Piggins and Mary Walker on 7 April 1861 at Taylor's Lodge, Rearsby, Leicestershire. He was recorded as aged 1 years; William was described as "labouring aged 36 years and born in Hungarton". Mary was described as "aged 37 years a labourer's wife and born in Rotherby." William Piggins appeared on the census with William Piggins and Mary Walker on 2 April 1871 at Church Lane, Rearsby, Leicestershire. He was recorded as aged 11 years; William was described as "an Ag Lab aged 46 years and born in Hungarton". Mary was described as "an Ag Lab aged 47 years and born in Rearsby."

                                                                                                  Ann Goodman was born on 24 June 1803 at Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. She was the daughter of Samuel Goodman and Catherine Ellingworth. Ann Goodman was baptised on Wednesday, 6 July 1803 at St Mary's Parish Church, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, and recorded as the being the eldest daughter of Samuel Goodman of Melton Mowbray, shoemaker, son of John Goodman of Seaton Rutland, labourer. And daughter of Catherine his wife, daughter of John Ellingworth of Oakham Rutland, shoemaker. She married Thomas Piggin, son of Daniel Piggin and Ann Boderick, on Wednesday, 26 December 1821 at St Mary's Parish Church, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, Thomas was described as a batchelor from Skevington and Ann was described as a spinster from Melton Mowbray. They both made their mark (X).. The marriage was witnessed by William Cox and Ann Lewin.

                                                                                                  Thomas Piggin and Ann Goodman appeared on the census of 6 June 1841 at Hungarton, Leicestershire, Thomas was described as "an ag lab aged 45 years". Ann was described as "aged 40 years and both born in this county". Thomas Piggin, Anne Piggin, Eliza Piggin and Daniel Piggins were also recorded in the family.

                                                                                                  Thomas Piggin and Ann Goodman appeared on the census of 30 March 1851 at Hungarton, Leicestershire, Thomas was described as "an ag lab aged 55 years and born in Skeffington". Ann was described as "aged 50 years and born in Melton". Thomas Piggin, Eliza Piggin, Elizabeth Piggin, Lydia Piggin and Daniel Piggins were also recorded in the family. Ann Goodman was widowed at age 52 when her spouse died on 10 January 1856 at Hungarton, Leicestershire.

                                                                                                  Ann Goodman appeared on the census of 7 April 1861 at Hungarton, Leicestershire, Ann was described as "a charwoman aged 64 years, widowed and born in Melton Mowbray". Eliza Piggin, Daniel Piggins, Ellen Piggins and Daniel Patchett were also recorded in the family.

                                                                                                  Ann Goodman appeared on the census of 2 April 1871 at Hungarton, Leicestershire, Ann was described as "aged 74 years and born in Burrow on the Hill". Everyone recorded on this census have their ages recorded incorrectly and Ann's place of birth was also incorrect. One wonders if the census taker guessed the ages or was Ann's memory failing?. Elizabeth Piggin, Lydia Piggin, Daniel Piggins, Ellen Piggins and William Sleath were also recorded in the family.

                                                                                                  Ann Goodman appeared on the census of 3 April 1881 at The Grange, Hungarton, Leicestershire, Ann was described as "formally a charwoman aged 80 years and a widow born in Melton Mowbray". Ellen Piggins, Walter Allen, Eliza Sleath, Harry Allen and George Allen were also recorded in the family. Ann Goodman died at age 85 in December 1888 at Hungarton, Leicestershire. Ann was buried and recorded as being aged 88 years of Hungarton in the parish register on Thursday, 6 December 1888 at Parish Church, Hungarton, Leicestershire.

                                                                                                    Samuel Goodman was born before 2 June 1776 at Seaton, Rutland. He was baptised on Sunday, 2 June 1776 at Parish Church, Seaton, Rutland, and recorded as the son of John and Elizabeth. He was the son of John Goodman and Elizabeth Tomlin. Samuel Goodman was an apprentice to Edward Norris as a cordwainer until he was 21 years of age between 5 April 1790 and 1797 whilst living at Harringworth, Northamptonshire. He married Catherine Ellingworth, daughter of John Ellingworth and Mary Queenborough, on Sunday, 19 September 1802 at St Mary's Parish Church, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, they were both of the parish of Melton Mowbray and Catherine made her mark (X). The marriage was witnessed by Joseph Wright and Mary Plawman. Samuel Goodman was a shoemaker on 6 July 1803 whilst living at Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. He was widowed at age 48 when his spouse died on 8 November 1824. He was a boot and shoe maker in 1835 whilst living at Sherrard Street, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. He died at age 60 in July 1836 at Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. Samuel was buried and recorded as being aged 60 years of Melton Mowbray in the parish register on Wednesday, 13 July 1836 at St Mary's Parish Church, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire.
