The market is open every day except Sunday. Monday (7 am - 1 am is early closing). Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (7 am - 5 pm), Friday and Saturday (7 am - 6 pm). Fresh fish is available every day the market is open, though the earlier you arrive the better the choice.
The Open Market (in its present form) was opened by the Duke of Norfolk on 7th January 1960 with 42 stalls.
