April
8th:
Kurt’s body was discovered by Gary Smith an employee of Veca
Electrical Contractors in a room above the garage known as the
greenhouse, at 8:40am. Off. Levandowski arrived at the scene first
at 8:56am and maintained the scene after Kurt was pronounced dead
by SFD until homicide arrived at around 10:15am. Medical Examiners
arrived at 11:05am, and Dr. Nikolas Hartshorne quickly concluded
death from a self inflicted gunshot wound. At 11:55am the scene
was secured, the case wrapped up and leaked to the media circus,
an open and shut case of suicide; without any preponderance
of the forensic evidence available! |

Grant and Dylan
were once again on the way to Carnation in the light of day, they
stopped off for gas. Dylan made a phone call
to a friend where he was informed of what was circulating around
news channels (CNN MTV)
that a body was found at the Lake Washington house. heading back
to Seattle they listened to the car radio which
was
reporting the body of Kurt Cobain was found in “the greenhouse”.

Grant
had no previous knowledge of this structure even existing and
questioned Dylan
on what it is and
why they didn’t look there; “It’s just a
dirty little room [above the garage]. I think they keep
lumber in there or something,” Dylan replied.
During this time Grant made a call to his office where he spoke
with Ben Klugman. He informed Grant that someone had attempted
to use Kurt’s cancelled credit card as recently as a few
hours before the body was discovered.
Grant believes
something was wrong throughout his involvement; “There
were so many things that just didn’t add up about this
time, so many inconsistencies which didn’t make sense.
It really smelled.” Grant expressed his concern that
very day to the detectives. He asked to inspect the crime scene
and assured them he was an official representative of Mrs. Cobain
and an ex-police officer, but he was denied access.
After
Grant visits the scene he leaves Seattle bound for Los Angeles.
Courtney flies to Seattle in a private Lear jet along with Eric,
Rosemary, Frances and Jackie Farry.
