The book features interesting and well researched biographies of both Kurt and Courtney, and also explores the characters of Eldon Hoke, Kristen Pfaff and Det. Terry and their possible significance in the case. "Who Killed Kurt Cobain?" has details on Tom Grant's investigation, as well as their own research, in which they believe there indeed was a conspiracy which succeeded in the death of Kurt Cobain. Halperin and Wallace are skeptical to focus on Courtney angle, but justify "the police didn't do their homework". The book also touches on Courtney's efforts to have the publication supressed along with Nick Broomfields docu-film - "Kurt & Courtney", which is featured in the revised edition.
