Seafront Chalet, West Bay |
|
West Bay, at the mouth of the River Brit, is the picturesque little fishing harbour of the old market town of Bridport (Thomas Hardy’s ‘Port Bredy’). It is a popular coastal resort with beaches, cliff walks, sea fishing, boating and an 18 hole golf course, and is ideally situated as a base from which to explore the beautiful and historic Dorset countryside and coastline. In recent years West Bay, Bridport, and the surrounding countryside have been the location for the TV series ‘Harbour Lights’ with Nick Berry, and ‘River Cottage’ with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall.
This comfortable and modern chalet is privately owned, and is one of a terrace of similar units along the seafront at West Bay. They are all stone-built, and some are permanent homes. The chalet is directly opposite the beach. Restaurants, shops, launderette, telephone and buses are all within 3 minutes walk.
