Club hill-climb, 2007

Our 2-stage hill-climb will be held again this year on 23rd Sept at Hawkesbury Upton, a few miles north-east of Chipping Sodbury.   The race HQ will be by the pond to the west of the village, next to the road towards the monument and Hillesley village (signing-on at 9:30).  Park by the pond in the lane leading to Hawkesbury church and common.

Race 1, the longer and less steep of the two stages, starts at Hillesley (10:00am), with the finish point next to the monument at Hawkesbury Upton.

Race 2 (11:00am) is a short sharp climb from the church at Hawkesbury, again finishing in Hawkesbury Upton, but this time just short of the pond and race HQ.

Classification is based on the aggregate time for the two climbs.

Note that these rides are clubruns, and NOT a subsitute for organised racing or training!!  The pace will be moderate (ave. speed ~15mph) so as to cater for a wide range of abilities, and in all probability, there will be a refreshement stop.

Club social meetings

Club social and business meetings are held in the clubhouse (with a licenced bar!) at the Yate Outdoor Sports Centre.  This facility is located behind Brimsham Park School adjacent to Goose Green Way, the northern ring road around Yate.  There are plenty of road signs providing directions.

Meetings are generally held monthly, on the first Wednesday.   Any variations to this will be indicated in the Diary section on our Home Page.
