This is a beautiful example of the 1909 mold by Schoenau & Hoffmeister, possibly the best I have seen. The bisque is pale and smooth, there are no hairlines or cracks, she has expressive big blue eyes and all lid wax is retained. The features are well molded and the lips and eyebrows expertly painted.
The blonde mohair wig is original or an early replacement. The head is marked Germany S PB H in a star, 1909 6
The full jointed wood and composition body is in excellent condition for its years, it retains its original Gesso (gloss) finish, there is hardly ant sign of wear to the joints, all fingers and toes are intact and still have the red paint to define.
Small surface crack to the finish at the dolls waist, possibly caused by doll stand. Faint red remains of ID mark on body, she is firmly strung together.
The outfit is wonderful, vintage / antique undies and what is possibly her original dress. Made from silk crepe, it's expertly hand smocked and fits her perfectly, it's also in extremely good condition. Very pretty straw bonnet covered in blue silk and decorated with antique chiffon roses. She wears matching blue silk shoes and hand knit wool knee high socks.
Her name is Elsie May, she has been in my collection for a number of years, Elsie is an impressive 24" tall.

Beautiful character doll, a great example of the K&R 126 mold, she is known as the "naughty baby", so called because her big brown sleeping flirting eyes refuse to close when she is placed on her left side to sleep.
The bisque head is free from damage, I removed the wig which was very firmly attached with the original animal glue to inspect the bisque, with the light test I can find no hairlines, she has a small firing mark to her right temple, which is no detriment to the bisque.
The wig is original and in good condition, she is 19 " tall. Her features are well defined, all eye lid wax is intact, she has two tiny perfect teeth.
The 5 piece heavy good quality composition body is in good condition for its age, fingers and toes are intact and defined in red.
K*R Simon & Halbig Germany 126 46 on the back of her head.
The outfit is circa 1920s

This rare and wonderful, huge Kestner flirty eye character doll is hard to find today. She is marked :-
Made in Germany JDK 257 64
She stands 28" tall. The beautiful big blue eyes flirt from side to side, they move freely and are in perfect working order. The head is free from hairlines, cracks or damage, just one tiny area of wig pull (2mm) across, high up under the wig. The wig is I think human hair.
The fully jointed wood and composition body is in good condition for its years, the lower right arm has lost some of the surface finish, this has been sealed and should go no further, the left lower arm has two surface cracks which again has been secured. All fingers and toes are intact, the body is firmly strung together.
She wears antique undies and stockings, a beautiful fine cotton and lace Victorian dress, her bonnet "Victorian", is fabulous.

Super little doll in excellent condition for his years, 11" tall and marked 0 Germany on the back of his head.
Tiny firing flaw (2mm) on his forehead and tiny pale area beneath the word Germany on his neck. Otherwise I can find no damage hairlines, cracks etc at all. The eyes sleep perfectly and all lid wax is retained, lip paint is intact. The features are well molded and the bisque, quite yellow in colour is smooth and silky.
The 5 piece composition body is in sound condition for its years, he is firmly strung together.
The outfit I don't think is original but it's quite appropriate. He is a charming little chap.
