After many years of playing at festivals, ceilidhs, weddings, and private functions the Woodpecker Band have finally called it a day.
But don’t despair you can always call on the
Skelter Ceilidh Band (see below).
We’ve formed Skelter with the intention of carrying on in the best tradition of the Woodpecker band.
The line up consists of three Woodpeckers plus two new additions (Tom & Sally). We’ve increased the instrument range for an even greater diversity of sound and material.

The Barn Dance, or Ceilidh, has seen a huge increase in popularity in recent times.
A Barn Dance is great fun for all ages, so is especially suitable for weddings, social functions and fund raising events.
The band provide a caller (MC) who explains the dance before the music starts and continues, if necessary, throughout the dance. Celebrity callers are available or organisers can arrange their own.
The band will be pleased to help you plan your event. Depending on factors such as venue size, expected attendance etc we will put together a package to suit your needs. A professional sound system will be provided.
