About 30 years ago, George's granddaughter, frustrated over
a drawing, asked for his help.   To his amazement, he was able
to draw bird claws.   He advanced to scratchboards, produced
by using a very sharp pen.   Scraping the black laminate layer, his
pen strokes exposed the white/silver layer underneath.   If you
make a mistake, the scratchboard is unforgiving.
