After hundreds of years, The Major Oak, still
grows and thrives (with help from supports).
Since the forest, originally planted by kings,
provided oak for building man-of-war ships,
we can only image why this one massive
oak was left to grow. Perhaps there really is a
Robin Hood? Living and hiding in the hollow
oak trunk, he awaits the rich to pass by?
