Kate's new album AERIAL will be released on November 7th and the new single KING OF THE MOUNTAIN is out on October 24th

31st August 2005: Well, hello there! It's been twelve long years since The Red Shoes in 1993, but finally in a press release this morning EMI Records have proudly confirmed the fantastic news: Kate's hugely anticipated new work, her eighth studio album, will be released worldwide on November 7th 2005 (Nov 8th in USA). It will be a double album. It is entitled Aerial. The first single King Of The Mountain precedes the album on October 24th. Both the single and album are produced by Kate Bush. This site, in conjunction with HomeGround The Kate Bush Magazine will keep you up-to-date on everything you need to know as the excitement mounts. Be sure to visit our busy site forum to discuss the release of this brand new music. Kate Bush is back in business, we are delighted and we wish her all the very best over the coming months.

Known contributors to the new album include Mick Karn (he says he played bass on a track called 'How To Be Invisible'), drummer Stuart Elliott and jazz percussionist Peter Erskine. The late Michael Kamen wrote the string arrangements for two tracks which will appear on the new album - she recorded what she has described as "some beautiful orchestral movements" with him and the London Metropolitan Orchestra at Abbey Road in October 2003. Chris Hall has played accordion on one track. Classical musicians Emma Murphy and Susanna Pell have also recorded for the album. Del Palmer is said to be engineering. Kate has had her new recording studio serviced and upgraded and started recording in late 1999.

The long awaited new album, the first in twelve long years for the fans, finally arrives in early November and to coincide with the release on the '7th there's the official launch of the brand new Kate Bush site, the first of it's kind dedicated to her. But shortly before then the fans are treated to an exclusive Video Launch on Ch4 in the UK, of the King Of The Mountain on the 15th of October at 22.40, the first time Kate has been given the same status a Robbie Williams and Green Day who recently had new video Launches.

King of the Mountain

Could you see the aisles of women?
Could you see them screaming and weeping?
Could you see the storm rising?
Could you see the guy who was driving?
Could you climb higher and higher?
Could you climb right over the top?
Why does a multi-millionaire
Fill up his home with priceless junk?

The wind is whistling
The wind is whistling
Through the house

Elvis are you out there somewhere
Looking like a happy man?
In the snow with Rosebud
And king of the mountain

Another Hollywood waitress
Is telling us she's having your baby
And there's a rumour that you're on ice
And you will rise again someday
And that there's a photograph
Where you're dancing on your grave

The wind is whistling
The wind is whistling
Through the house

Elvis are you out there somewhere
Looking like a happy man?
In the snow with Rosebud
And king of the mountain

The wind it blows
The wind it blows the door closed
