The inspiring music of JACOBS LADDER has been described as both elecrifying and breathtaking. Their sound hinges around the unique, intoxicating harmonies and song writing talents of twin sisters Ramona and Zinta Egle. Flutes, fiddle, marimba, guitars, bass plus an array of percussion draws on musical traditions from around the world, Jacobs Ladder forge this into something uniquely original and evocative - yet creating a sound that is classic. Instrumentals that whirl us from Brittany to Scandinavia, Europe and beyond, balance with magical songs of passion. Together they have created a sound that has captivated audiences throughout Britain and Europe. Their own material, bold, innovative, elbows alongside that of classic songwriters with seamless bliss, songs by Suzanne Vega, Nick Drake, Dougie Maclean and Richard Thompson undergo the special Jacobs Ladder treatment. Having formed around 1994 as a trio, Jacobs Ladder quickly forged a solid reputation in Kent for musical individuality and song writing skills. By 1996 the Trio had grown into the present five piece. Over the last five short years the band has notched up a reputation as a live band not to be missed. 1997/98 has seen them playing venues as diverse as the Mean Fiddle main stage and Weavers, two of London's top roots venues, to their highly successful "Six Days One Spring" Tour promoting live music and arts in rural communities of the South East playing a hide range of venues. A string of festival appearances, folk and mainstream, have consolidated their reputation. Individually the band members have a hide ranging and diverse history of musical credits to their name including main stage Stonehenge as member of Normil Hawaiians, the 1980's underground group, receiving five star album reviews and John Peel sessions. Work with Jools Holland. Performances main stage at the World famous Saint Chartier roots music festival. Commission work for the BBC, Sound track for Film and Video. Touring in Europe and the UK. Members of the band are also visual artists, painters, poets and engage in promotion work.
