Take Off (3s to 5s)*
Take Off is the Sunday teaching group for children aged 3 to 5. We aim to
give children a basic knowledge of some key figures in the Bible and explore
the importance of Christmas, Easter and Pentecost. We do this through
telling stories, singing songs and doing craft activities. The craft
activity relates to the story and provides the children with something to
remind them of what they have learned each week. We also celebrate
children's birthday, which is fun for them too!
Launch Pad (3s-Reception age)
Launch Pad is our weekday club for children aged 3 upto and including
reception age. Each week we have lots going on. Loud games, quiet games,
puzzles, toys, songs, sweets, crafts and a Bible story too. It's great fun!
Kids 4 Christ (5s to 9s, yrs 1-4)*
K4C is the Sunday group for children aged 5 to 9. We cover a lot of the key
Bible stories through presentation and group work and we help the children
to think about how they can respond as well. We use songs, games, crafts,
memory verses and other activities to help the children to build a good
foundation of familiarity with the stories and lessons of the Bible. We
have fun with the lessons and learn at the same time.
KidZone (5s to 9s, yrs 1-4)*
KidZone is the weekday club for children aged 5 to 9. We do lots of fun
things at Belmont like sports, games, crafts, tuck shop, singing and other
activities. We also have trips out including swimming, bowling and Belmont
Park. Every club night we have a brief epilogue where one of the leaders
shares a simple but clear message from the Bible for the kids to think
about. It all adds up to a lot of fun and usually a good helping of noise
too!
SOS Sundays (9s to 11s, yrs 5 & 6)*
SOS Sundays is the teaching group for children aged 9 to 11. We begin to
build on the stories learned at K4C by looking at the bigger picture. We
take a look at characters in the Bible, starting at Genesis and going right
through to Revelation over the 2 years that children are with us. The aim
is to help the kids get a better grasp of their Bibles for themselves and
continue to build familiarity with God's word and in-turn with God himself.
SOS Fridays (9s to 11s, yrs 5 & 6)*
SOS Fridays is the weekday club for children aged 9 to 11. There's a wide
and varied programme with activities such as football, hockey, giant jenga,
video games, tuck shop, trips out such as bowling, swimming, Crealy Park and
even Woodlands too! We have great fun and there's lots going on to
challenge young people and to provide an exciting evening out! Most
evenings we also have a brief slot to get the kids thinking about a key
truth from the Bible. There's also the annual weekend away and Devon
Christian Youth Camps to look forward to.
Gravit8 (11s to 14s, yrs 7-9)*
Gravit8 is the Sunday teaching group for young people aged 11 to 14. The
emphasis changes slightly in this group as we start trying to empower the
young people to apply what the Bible says into issues and situations they
face in their lives. We generally start with the issues, discuss people's
opinions and then explore what God has to say in the Bible. It's always a
challenge but very rewarding when people get stuck in!

Radi8 (11s to 14s, yrs 7-9)*
Radi8 is the weekday youth club for young people aged 11 to 14. This club
is for members only and the young people have membership cards to get in!
We get up to a variety of things including some more adventurous activities.
We also have an optional discussion time where we talk about issues and
questions that the young people themselves have raised.
Mentoring (13s to 18s and beyond)
The idea of mentoring is to provide a relationship through which a mentor
empowers a young person by sharing God-given resources. We have carefully
selected mentors who are willing to make themselves available to a small
number of young people. Mentoring is unique because what happens is driven
entirely by the individual needs of the young people. Mentors are
themselves accountable to Dave Pegg, James May and Jonny Baker.
Off The Wall (14s to 18s, yrs 10-13)*
OTW is a Sunday evening group for young people aged 14 to 18. We cover a
variety of topics including things that the group choose themselves. We
keep the discussion/Bible study fairly laid-back and no longer than about
half an hour so that the sessions can benefit from having a strong social
element. This also helps to make OTW a potentially non-threatening group
for non-Christian friends to attend. Everyone at OTW is strongly encouraged
to have a mentor so that they can have a deeper level of discipleship
appropriate for them.
Rainbow
This is our teaching group for young people with special needs.
It happens about once every 2 weeks and we cover vital areas
of Bible teaching in a way that the young people with special needs can
really get to grips with at their own level. It's run by a fantastic team
who use creative teaching methods that really help the Bible lessons come
alive for those in the group.
Youth Music Group
This one is open to all young people who play musical instruments or sing
and want to put their growing talents to use. There are 2 groups and we
meet together regularly to practice and have fun together. We sometimes
help to lead sung worship at Belmont and we also go out to serve in other
churches too.
And there's more.
Every summer there's a holiday club for under 5s and for 5s to 11s too.
Music, crafts, drama, gunge tank, games, quizzes, videos and lots of fun
learning about God!
