The tariff does not include breakfast. Continental or Full English breakfast is charged at £5.00 per person. Breakfast between 7.30 am - 9.00 am Monday to Friday and 8.00 am - 9.30 am Rooms must be vacated at 11.00 am on the date of departure. Bookings only can be taken accompanied by a valid credit card.
Cancellations may be made up to 12 noon on the day before arrival without charge, cancellations after 12 noon will be charged at full price.

Access Statement For The Shoe Inn Introduction The Shoe Inn is located on the busy A36 trunk road and offers five ensuite guest rooms The Inn is over three hundred years old and whilst we aim to meet the needs of all our guests there are some period features which might make access difficult for people with limited mobility. All the rooms are located on the first floor and there is no lift available. Ceilings are fairly low in some rooms and doors are narrow. Rooms are of typical cottage proportions and not suitable for wheelchair users. Pre-Arrival • We are located on the A36 trunk road 11 miles out of Salisbury and 11 miles out of Southampton. Our location is not ideally suited to those travelling without a car. • The nearest shop is approximately 100 yards away. • The nearest bus stop in just under a half mile away. Buses only run hourly and the service stops early in the evening. There are no buses on Sundays. • The nearest railway station is Romsey approximately 5 miles away. • There are several local taxi companies, however they must be pre-booked and will not come out for small journeys and in the evening after 21.00 hours. • Menus can be provided in large print if required. Arrival & Car Parking Facilities • To ensure your accommodation is ready we ask that guests do not normally arrive before 2.00pm. Earlier arrival may, however, may be possible by arrangement. Parking is in the car parks on both sides of the A36. We offer assistance with luggage.
Main Entrance & Reception There are no steps in the main bar and dining areas. • The front desk is immediately in front of you when entering the main entrance. There are a number of seats in the reception/bar. On check in the staff will brief you of our evacuation policy. • The registration card can be enlarged if required and we will guide you through the registration card if required. Public Areas - General (lnternall • The Inn is long and narrow, the bar area, dining area and garden room lead directly into one-an-other. • There is a stairway to the first floor of 12 steps; there is a hand rail on one side of these stairs. The stairs are carpeted. • There is a door from the garden room which leads into the garden and to the smoking area. • We have five guest bedrooms which are all on the first floor (please see section Bedrooms for more information). • The Inn is centrally heated throughout but temperatures can be adjusted in each room to suit individual requirements. Public Areas - WC • There are ladies, gents and disabled toilets in the down stairs areas. Bar & Restaurant • There is a bar situated on the ground floor to the left of reception It has level entry and is open plan with carpeted, even flooring The bar area has tall chairs around it Table service can be offered in the bar • There is a selection of tables and chairs available of varying heights • Lighting is a combination of artificial light and natural day light whilst parts of the bar have low level lighting at night, there are areas which are well lit also. • There is a restaurant on the ground floor which is reached through the bar area. Staff will seat you at a table The restaurant is table service only • Menus are available in large print and staff will automatically take you through the menu and choices for the meal. • Lighting is a combination of artificial light and natural day light whilst for the evening meal lighting is low level with candles on the table. Lighting can be increased at certain tables if required. • We are able to cater for varying dietary needs, please advise staff on booking. Outdoor Facilities • There is a pebbled court yard garden with a smoking area at various levels. Bedrooms All bedrooms are on the first floor and are carpeted throughout. • There are en suite facilities in all rooms consisting of a shower, WC and wash basin. (Room 1,2 & 3 have a bath as well) Tea and coffee facilities are provided. • We also provide a hair dryer, a selection of books and magazines and a basic first aid kit. • Our beds are normally made with duvets, feather during the winter and synthetic during the summer. All pillows are synthetic Synthetic duvets are available at all times if preferred. There is a wardrobe, and dressing table in each room. • Our bedrooms are not large enough to accommodate additional seating. • There is a folder in each bedroom which contains further information about the Inn and details of emergency contacts including doctors and hospitals. |

Grounds and Gardens We have a pebbled courtyard garden. Guests are very welcome to enjoy our garden at all times. Access to the garden is via a door in Garden room There are two steps of 6 inches into the garden. There is a smoking area in. A heater is available in the smoking area. Additional Information • There is a fire extinguisher in the entrance hall and another at the top of the guest stairs. • In the event of a fire the alarm will sound. Please advise us if you have a hearing impairment and might not hear this. • We do not permit smoking in the Inn, but you may smoke in our garden. Please use the ash trays. • We are happy to cater for special diets or any particular likes or dislikes. Please advise us of these before your arrival. We are happy to refrigerate any medication. • Mobile phone reception inside the Inn is generally poor but in some of the surrounding area there is a signal.
