This Head is A Nice Round Head

The Fife head is small, round and neat.

Should be from all angels.

Beak fine not to big or over sized.

Eyes central to the head and body.

This Head is Flat at the back

The bird on the left is the same as above.

It hasn't got enough back skull.

If your birds look like this do not breed with them.

As this fault will go on to the next generation.

 If  you do breed using this bird and they look all right, the fault is in the genes.

This fault will still reappear later. 

This Head is Flat on Top

This is one of the main fault's with a lot of fifes today.

Breeding with birds that have faults. e g. flat heads at front & flat at back will give you birds with more faults.

If your bird's have these, take the bird that is less flat on top and pair it to a bird with a very good head.

The young of this pair with the best head can be paired back to a bird with a very good head.

This Head is Flat at the Front

You look at a bird with it's head flat at the front, it will look as if someone has hit it with a mallet.

This fault can be just over the beak, or all the way to the back of the head.

Do not breed with birds that have these faults.

Sell them to the pet shop for singers or cull them.
