TIMING CHAIN COVER MODIFICATION CLICK PHOTOS TO ENLARGE
The existing timing chain cover showing the engine mount which is used where the engine is mounted transversely in a front wheel drive car. This needs to be removed to provide better clearance for the auxiliary belt routing.
The first job is to remove the studs
The engine mount is then milled off the casing until it is flush with the flat area immediately above it. The bolts are changed to shorter ones to accomodate the thinner cover.
