The
new chassis arrives home along with cardboard boxes full of parts. The
first job will be to sort through everything and check that everything
is there.
A
shot of the engine bay showing some of the modifications designed to make
installation of the duratec a little easier. The washer bottle mount is
relocated and the wiring and fuel lines run up the left hand side of the
car. The brake line can also be moved although not in this case. Likewise
a removable engine bay diagonal is fitted dependant on the exhaust configuration
to be used.
The
front suspension mounts. The car has been dlivered in bare aluminium finish
as we are having it painted locally. This involves a bit more work masking
the car for painting but should save quite a bit on the price Caterham
quote for painting.
Standard
Caterham dash with standard guages. Windscreen and other components are
black powdercoated to minimise the amount of aluminium there will be to
polish. The cockpit panels have been left as bare aluminium as they are
to be replaced by carbon fibre panels.
The
boot complete with a nice piece of plywood.......another candidate for
replacing with carbon fibre in the future.
The
rear of the starter chassis with no spare whwwl carrier or fixing......I
must remember to buy a can of tyre weld.
