The bare de dion tube as supplied by Caterham. The inside has been coated with waxoyl to prevent corrosion.

The standard rear calipers fitted with uprated brake pads (note the blue tabs). The pads have been removed and the pistons and back of the pads coated in coppaslip to reduce brake squeal. The pads were replaced and the caliper reassembled ready for fitting.

The standard de dion ears machined in aluminium.

The de dion ears and calipers dry fitted in order to fit the brake lines to the de dion tube.

The three way brake union fitted to the de dion tube.

The short brakeline bent and fitted to the de dion tube using p clips riveted to the pre drilled holes.

The long brakeline bent and fitted to the de dion tube using p clips riveted to the pre drilled holes.

One of the rear dampers. They have been supplied by Pro-tech and are alloy bodied with adjustment for height and damping. They are fitted with 165lbin springs.

This photo shows the dedion tube and dampers fitted to the car. The radius arm has been fitted to the chassis and held parallel with the ground for torquing to ensure the correct preload.

And now it is attached to the dedion tube. This will be torqued later.

Next the halfshaft is passed through the dedion ear and the ear is attached to the dedion tube. We have used silicon sealant between the ear and the dedion tube to prevent water ingress.

The bearing carrier is then passed over the end of the halfshaft and bolted to the dedion ear

The brake disc and hub assembly can then be pushed over the driveshaft.

Next the brake caliper is attached to the dedion ear and finally the hub nut and washer can be replaced and tightened.

The A frame can now be installed and centred. Note that we have fitted the nylon washers to the rear a frame mount.

The final job is to fit the handbrake mechanism. First of all the hanbrake cable is fed through to each calier from the transmission tunnel. Tthe handbrake and clevis pin are then attached.

This phot just about shows the handbrake cable fitted to the two mounting points just in front of the diff with the adjuster on the left hand side of the car.

And finally the handbrake cable is attched to the caliper.
