OUR THANKS TO.. |
|
To begin a thank you note at the right place is always difficult because in different ways each contribution is equally important. The best place to start, I think, will be to thank all the people who supported the team, either as a team or individually by sponsoring this challenge. No political comment from me on the fact that important health work seems to rely more heavily than ever on charity fund raising, just grateful thanks for everone who has given so generously. I have not got final figures yet and when I do I will update the full amount on the site, but we are certainly hopeful of achieving more than £4000. On a more personal note the list of thank you's is not endless but more important so to start and they are not really in order of importance. Charlie Barton - stepped in at the very last minute to drive one of the busses. It's a lot harder in some ways than the walk and certainly with no obvious credit. The effort was well appreciated by all. Charlie also organized food bags and generally looked after his all the passengers in his bus.Neil Bennett - our other driver and the same comments go to him. Margaret Montgomery - put a huge amount of effort into making sure we were not hungry and generally took a lot of the organisational strain of the walkers. Susan Bennett - another supplier of food and invaluable support and organisation. Anne McMillan - invaluable support at Ben Nevis. Helen Erskine - another supplier of food. Last of all thanks to all who took part in the challenge. Despite the end result which in our case was very mixed the committment of everyone to put themselves through the punishment of this challenge deserves some credit especially when the real goal was to provide benefits to other people. CHEERS, THANKS and WELL DONE everyone. |
