Tigh Dornie
Bed and Breakfast in the heart of Perthshire
Tigh Dornie is a modern detached home in a large landscaped garden in the hamlet of Aldclune, one mile north of historic Killiecrankie which was the scene of the first battle of the Jacobite rebellion.
All of the very comfortable rooms have en-suite facilities - with either a shower, a bath or both - to a very high standard. Each room has a lovely hostess tray, colour TV clock radio, electric blanket for the winter and fresh flowers. There is a sitting room available for residents and from the dining room you can enjoy watching the wild birds feeding in the garden and sometimes the red squirrels join in too! There is ample private parking beside the house, which overlooks the Killiecrankie hills.
Tigh Dornie is an ideal base for touring the Highlands and there are many beautiful and interesting local walks in the unspoiled countryside, catering for both the energetic and more relaxed. Blair Atholl, with its famous Castle, is only two miles away. The popular tourist town of Pitlochry - with its excellent Festival Theatre, salmon ladder, and a rich variety of shops, restaurants and bars - is just a few miles away.
A full hearty Scottish breakfast menu is available, including home made preserves. Scottish smoked salmon and scrambled egg is just one of the choices. Breakfast is served normally from 08:30 to 09:00, but residents can request an early breakfast from 06:30 if they wish. Packed lunches are also available on request.
Tigh Dornie has been awarded 4 stars for Bed and Breakfast by the Scottish Tourist Board.
