I live in Bollington and retired early from my professional career in IT with a well known multi-national oil company which lasted more than 26 years. • Chairman 2002-05 Bollington Civic Society which during 2004-05 successfully developed and opened the new and very popular Discovery Centre at Clarence Mill.
• Convenor, Eastern Panel of Cheshire Police Authority's Custody Visiting Scheme (until end August 2005).
• Member of the Inland Waterways Association, supporter of the Waterway Recovery Group and around ten waterway societies including the Macclesfield Canal Society.
• Chairman, Macclesfield Canal Partnership Steering Group (2005-08).
• Developer and webmaster of four web sites (see below).

I give many all digital presentations each year to canal and other societies on a variety of subjects:
