footballing career in the boys game with Handley Wood. In 1996/7 her team won the Shaun Morris U9's League in fine style winning 20 games from 22

Under 14 age group has historically been the most successful in the Club. Within 8 months of being formed we were National Champions after winning the Reebok 5's UK championship at Bolton.

U-14A's 2000-2001

Division 1 Champions and Cup Finalists

Another of the Club's most successful sides with 20 wins in 20 league matches, the U-14A's had a brilliant season scoring 135 league goals and conceding just 6. Strikers Claire Simms and Louise Naylor scored an amazing 76 league and cup goals between them and keeper Rhianne Carroll completed 14 clean sheets in the league. No side scored more than one goal against them in the league all season.

Paul Thompson's U-14's 5-a-side team won the Nottingham Tournament at the Embankment playing fields on Sunday, 1st July 2001. The girls were excellent throughout the day and produced gutsy performances against some very talented sides. WELL DONE GIRLS!

In May 1992 and competing as Sharley Park Spireites we entered as a Club into a 6 a side competition organised by Kesteven District Council in Lincoln. In the U16 age group we split our resources and ended up as both winners and runners up on the day

Following on from the sucess of the Junior players at the Club, we challenged theYorkshire Electricity Junior League to an U16 representative squad game.
This took place at Queens Park Annexe in April 1994 and finished with a 9-0 victory for Chesterfield. The squad for this game is pictured below

On the 17th May 1991 what could loosely be termed a Reserve team played it's first match against Wirksworth Ladies. Wirksworth were another newly formed team, who at the time were receiving coaching from Jane Ebbage and Steph Campey. The game finished as a 7 - 2 victory with 10 year old Karen McKechnie grabbing one of the goals after she came on as a sub late in the game.

The last game of the 1999/2000 season was at the Annexe on Sunday 14th May when the 1st team entertained League Champions Newcastle Town.

The Club has hosted a number of matches against international opposition, and generally puts a team together based on our visitors age group. In April 1996 we entertained the Nordic Team from Vermont in the US. The Borough Council provided a post match buffet, and we also welcomed local councillors Westray and Rose to the game.

Adidas Tournament at Mansfield 2002

Great showing by the First Team at this prestigious competition last weekend (3rd-4th Aug) After finishing 3rd behind Fulham and Glasgow in the group stages. The girls were narrowly beaten 3-2 in the quarter finals by Garswood Saints
