This Augustinian priory is situated in a remote location in the Welsh hills. In around 1103 a knight called William de Lacy took shelter in a chapel while out hunting and was so taken by the beauty of the location he turned against his violent life and became a hermit there. William was Joined by a group of Augustinian monks who helped build the new church.
