Ingeborg of Denmark was the second wife of Philip Augustus of France. Philip's first wife died in 1190 and he only had one son so another marriage was important. But for some reason Philip had a change of mind and tried to annul the marriage. Ingeborg had the support of Pope Innocent III who informed Philip that he could not marry again. |
