York falls to Eadred
Eadred defeated Eric Bloodaxe the Dane that had ruled the kingdom of York on and off for several years. Eric was killed and Eadred took control of the kingdom of York. Eadred nominated Oswulf as the new ruler of Northumbria. 1

Eadwig sent Dunstaninto exile. The reason for this is that Dunstan had caught Eadwig and Aelgifu together before they were married and at a time when Eadwig should have attended an important meeting. Dunstan must have upset Eadwig at this point and was sent into exile.

Consecration of Peterborough Abbey
Dunstan, the Archbishop of Canterbury, and Oswald, the Archbishop of York, consecrated the abbey at Peterborough in the presence of King Edgar.

Edgar's water-pageant
Edgar arranged a water-pageant on the river Dee where he was rowed from Chester to the Minster of St. John by eight kings including Kenneth of Scotland, Malcolm of Cumberland, Maccus of the Isles and five welsh princes. Edgar held a festival in the honour of St. John but more likely to show his superiority over the other kings. 4
