When Sihtric died he left an heir Olaf. The king of the Norse in Dublin arrived to assist Olaf but Athelstan was ready for any trouble that they could do and defeated them. York was seized and its fortifications destroyed.

Sihtric (Norse King of York) A Norse leader from Dublin who attacked the kingdom of Mercia from the Mersey frontier. The Mersey formed part of the boundary between Mercia and the Viking Kingdom of York.
Constantine (II, King of the Scottish 900-942) Constantine was the son of Aedh. Aedh had been a ruler in Scotland and was killed by Giric, who along with Eochaid ruled Scotland from 878 to 879.
